DIY: Spray Painted Mason Jars

How To:

- This was also a super easy project. Wash your mason jars, once they're dry bring them outside (again very important to be in a well ventilated area when spray painting)

- Follow the instructions on the spray can. Do thin coats, if you get too close to the jar, or spray too much paint it will start to drip(you can see this in the second photo pretty clearly.)

-Let them dry, and then do whatever you want with them! I've seen people use them as I have as storage, others have used them as flower pots, or a place to grow herbs. They have thousands of uses!

DIY: Large Painted Flowerpot

Items needed: 

• Spray Paint
• Terracotta Pot
• Soil
• Plant/Flower

How to:

-This is actually an incredibly easy project. Go to your local dollar store and find the flower pot, bottom, and soil. Then you should be able to find the paint at Walmart, and you can get all kinds of flowers from your local grocery store(I got mine from Sobeys). 

-Once you have all of your items, go outside (don't do this inside unless the area is well ventilated), then  follow the instructions on the spray can, make sure you do thin coats, if you get too close or spray too much, the paint will start dripping and that's no good. 

-Once the pot is dry get the soil and put some in the bottom. Get your flower and take it out of the pot-like thing its in. With the smaller flower I broke off as much of the soil it was already in as I could so it would have lots of new soil, but since this was such a large pot I just stuck it in the middle. Then fill in the soil around the plant until its even will the top and its as high as you want it to be. 

That should be it!

DIY: Small Painted Flowerpots

Supplies: 

- terracotta pots

- Any colour paint

Directions: 

I honestly don't know if a specific paint is necessary. I went to Walmart a bought a colour tester paint can. Its super small and a pretty decent price, with plenty of paint. Then, just paint. You can decide how many coats you need, but they look so much better. You can see the bigger pot I bought in the background and I plan on painting that a different colour. I shall post pictures when I am done.

I really like the way they turned out!

DIY Project- Decorative Painted Vases Part 1

Supplies: Different sized vases from Dollarama or any other place you can find them, dishwasher safe PermEnamel paint in whatever color you prefer, PermEnamel Surface Conditioner from Michaels, paper towels, paint brush and a mixing bowl.

Directions:

1. Clean the vases with hot, soapy water.

2. When they are completely dry, pour some surface conditioner in and cover the inside of the vase. Pour out the excess and let the vase dry. (This step is very important.. I didn't do it the first time, and it turned out horribly. It took more then 2 days for the paint to dry... try and error I suppose.)

3. Pour the colour of paint you want inside the vase.

4. Paint the inside of the glass using the paint brush to cover the inside surface.

5. Once the vase is painted, lay it on a paper towel to let the thick paint drip off. A lot of paint comes off, so the longer you keep it there the thinner the coat will be.

6. Turn the vase back over and touch up the drips inside. Every fifteen minutes you can even out the thickness on the bottom of the vase as the paint will start to collect.

7. Let these dry over night and in the morning you should have a wonderful colourful vase.

DIY Project- Plastic Drawers Makeover

I started with just a regular set of drawers and bought some scrapbook paper; you can get this at your local Michaels store, or at any craft supply store. It only took me 3 sheets, but probably buy 4 or 5 so you can play around with the different colours. I bought a 4th sheet but didn't like the way it looked so decided not to use it.

All you need to do is measure the height of the drawers, and cut the paper to that measurement. The paper I used didn't quite make the full width but I just centred it and it seems to look fine. Once you have the paper in the place you want, you just need to tape it in place. You can tape it however you want, I rolled the pieces of tape and put the rolls between the paper and the front of the drawer on the inside. There is probably a better way to tape them, because you can see the tape on the dark purple drawer. Play around with it until you're happy.

There you go; a super easy way to make an eye-s0re into an interesting organizer!
